If you're like me and you have a slight addiction with Instagram then you probably saw that I was down in Mexico visiting my home away from home, Guadalajara! It was definitely a short trip, but I was still able to find time to do some exploring, see friends and of course have sit down with our Metal Team.
The city has so much to offer with a million and one things to do. You could walk around the Historical Downtown area and be blown away by the beautiful architecture, enjoy an agua fresca and listen to the local streets performers. Hop into one of the many museums or my favorite, sit at a local cafe, drink a motcha latte and people watch.
During this trip I decided I wanted to go to Tonala, which is about 20 minutes from downtown, it is the "Capital of Artesanial."
There is hundreds of local artist selling their artesanias. I happened to stumble into a little gallery that was blasting Metallica, so I entered. Inside I found this guy who was in the middle of painting his latest piece. He and his friend had just gone into business together. As I was looking around at their pieces, I fell madly in love with this particular painting. Unfortunately it was a couple hundred dollars out of my budget...
The last stop during my trip (and the most exciting,) I went to meet up with our team to go over some new upcoming designs. Got a little tour on how a sheet of metal becomes our designs. Unfortunately I was so excited I completely forgot to take pictures. So I guess another trip will be needed soon. We have some exciting new pieces coming out so make sure to keep an eye out.
